The NATD's exciting Stage Branch Tap syllabus is created for all ages to embrace exercise, fitness and fun through intricate rhythms and up-beat music.

Our graded classes commence with Class Examination from the age of 4, which introduces and develops rhythmical skills, coordination, spatial awareness, confidence and team building skills. Students can then progress through the grades becoming more skilful and enjoying the intricate rhythms. Following grades 1 to 5, Intermediate Foundation to Advanced 2 encourage students who wish to become teachers or professional dancers.

Examinations offer a great opportunity for students to achieve qualifications and awards whilst advancing their skills in tap. They are not compulsory however, and aside from the syllabus, we strive to provide performance opportunities for our students and above all, enjoyable classes. Children with special needs are encouraged to participate in our classes and examinations.

We also offer private lessons in tap for all ages.

The teachers at AJ School of Dance are supported by and work closely with NATD theatrical committees to constantly assess the syllabus and training of teachers.

We now offer Adult Tap classes on a Thursday evening, these classes are both fun and informal whilst still learning the rhythmical techniques of Tap dance. Suitable for all abilities. Ages 18+.
