CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

Candidate entry is strictly through the school principal who is an NATD teacher with a

current membership card/number.

CHAMPIONSHIP SECTION AGE GROUPS

The Committee Grants the Championships are held in the following age groups: Junior (6

to 9) Inter (10 to 13) Senior (14 to 17).

The age of the candidate must be correct and is to be taken from the date of the

competition.(Qualified dance teachers are ineligible)

HOW TO ENTER

£11.00 per candidate entry fee.

Entry forms are available to download from the NATD Website.

All information including payment details will be on the entry form.

Once all entries are received, further information and timetables of the event will be sent

out to teachers.

This event is open to all NATD Theatrical Schools.

PROCEDURE FOR SONG & DANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS

HEAT SECTIONS/SEMI FINAL/GRAND FINALS

a) All entered competitors will perform a Song & Dance solo, not to exceed 2 and half

minutes, in duration in their age section (Junior, Inter or Senior).

b) Adjudicators will then recall their chosen competitors to re-dance again in a Semi-Final

section.

c) Adjudicators will then recall their top 6 competitors to re-dance in the Grand Finals.

d) DRESS CODE - Solo Performances are to be fully costumed with theatrical stage make

- up.

e) Props may be used to enhance the performance.

f) Re-Dance will not be permitted unless there has been a technical or equipment failure.

The committees decision is final on the day.

ADJUDICATORS

The adjudicators will be selected by the Song & Dance committee.

PHOTOGRAPHS AND VIDEOS

PHOTOGRAPHS AND VIDEOS WILL BE TAKEN THROUGHOUT THIS EVENT. By taking

part in this event, you grant the NATD full rights to use images resulting from photography/

video filming, and any reproductions or adaptions of the images for publicity. This might

include, (but is not limited to) the right to use them in their printed and online publicity,

social media, and press releases. If you DO NOT WISH to be specifically photographed/

filmed, please inform an event organiser. Please be aware that there is NO guarantee that

you will not appear in an NATD audience background shot unless you contact an event

organiser before the event. Any photographs/video footage taken on a personal camera/

device should not be placed on social media without the specific consent of a responsible

adult or the people directly captured in such images and video footage. Photography and

filming is prohibited in all toilets and changing areas.

SONG AND DANCE CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS

a) The Championship winners of each age section will receive a £100 prize fund and a

trophy award. A payment will be issued to the School Principal of each winner. This is to be

used for their students continued training with that particular entering school.

b) The top 6 finalists will all receive a commemorative award.

c) All competitors will receive a medal and certificate of participation award.

DISCLAIMER

Championship.
